Report: NFL Player Who Accidentally Killed Man Was Drunk
Cleveland Brown wide receiver Donte Stallworth was driving drunk when he struck a pedestrian with his car and killed him last weekend, according to a Miami television station and newspaper.
Both WSVN-TV and the Miami Herald cited unnamed sources who say that Stallworth’s blood-alcohol level was .12 – .04 over the legal limit.
The Miami Beach Police Department has not confirmed the reports, and no charges have been filed against the 28-year-old Stallworth, The Associated Press reports.
Mario Reyes, the man struck by Stallworth’s Bentley, died Saturday.
The accident occurred about 7 a.m., and he had just finished an overnight shift at the Port of Miami and was walking to a bus stop, AP reports.
