Tiny Reveals The Notorious B.I.G. Apologized for “Just Playing (Dreams)” Verse
Shortly before his tragic murder in March 1997, The Notorious B.I.G. was able to make amends with XSCAPE after insulting them on his 1994 track “Just Playing (Dreams).”
On a recent episode of “The Morning Hustle,” group members Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris and Kandi Burruss reflected on Biggie’s offensive verse about XSCAPE, where he rapped, “I'll f**k RuPaul before I f**k them ugly a** XSCAPE b******s.”
“That was something that did happen. The world heard the song,” Burruss said. “The girls, they are more forgiving than I. And I feel bad to this day. The day that Biggie passed away, we were at that party. Biggie apologized. I wouldn’t go over here.”
“I was just like, ‘I’m going to see what he’s talking about,’” Harris added. “And you know, he was very nice, he was very apologetic, and he basically said, ‘I don’t know what I was thinking. I’m ugly as hell. Y’all is beautiful, and I just wanted to say I apologize.’
After telling Burruss about the conversation, Harris added that the rapper “ended up passing probably 20, 30 minutes after that.”
Harris last talked about the interaction in a 2020 episode of VladTV, where she detailed that the artists were at a “Vibe Magazine” party at the time. “I just know for Kandi, she was like, ‘Dang, ‘I should have said something,” Harris said around the 7-minute mark below.
