'Twitter for Dummies,' White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer Roasted for Obliviously Re-tweeting 'The Onion'
The White House has been the cause of much chaos and fear ever since Donald Trump moved in to the Oval Office, but Press Secretary Sean Spicer has become an unexpected source of humor throughout the turmoil, just not in the way he probably hoped.
Just days after tweeting what appeared to be his personal passwords two days in a row, Spicer retweeted an article praising his style as the White House's liaison to the media. The only problem? The article originated on the cutting satirical news site The Onion. The tweet said his role in the Trump administration "will be to provide the American public with robust and clearly articulated misinformation."
By Spicer's response, it is clear he either misread or misunderstood the tweet, as he endorsed the message with a triumphant, "You nailed it. Period!" Oof.
While Spicer continues to be the butt of many Twitter jokes, he has yet to delete the original tweet.
In no time, Twitter users began roasting the press secretary for seemingly missing the point:

Others wondered if this was Spicer taking a stab at "alternative sarcasm," expressing their disbelief with news coming out of the White House as well.

Users also took the opportunity to remind Spicer of his repeated gaffes during his short time in the White House.

But most just took it as another opportunity to criticize Spicer and the president he works for.

Spicer is having a very tough time acclimating to the spotlight that comes with working in the White House...and Twitter is loving every minute of it.
