Awarding-winning actor Billy Porter took the stage at the BET Awards 2022 Sunday night (June 26), bringing ballroom culture front and center. Set to the tone of Crystal Waters’ hit dance-pop 1994 single “100% Pure Love,” this energy-packed showcase featured several prominent figures from the ballroom scene, including HBO’s Legendary stars Dashaun Wesley and Shannon Balenciaga, Shaun Ross, Kevin Prodigy, and actress and Pose star Dominique Jackson who praised BET Networks following the first-ever of its kind presentation.

“THIS WAS A MOMENT!!!!!” the author and model wrote on Instagram just one day after the celebration alongside a clip of the show-stopping performance. “I GREW UP WATCHING @bet BUT FOR A LONG TIME FELT EXCLUDED, FELT THAT THOSE IN MY COMMUNITY WERE NOT REPRESENTED OR EVEN MENTIONED UNLESS WE WERE THE BRUNT OF THE JOKE!” she continued. “WHEN WE BEGAN TO BE A PART OF THE CONVERSATION IN A POSITIVE WAY I KNEW THERE WAS HOPE!”

Jackson made her appearance during the awards ball wearing a shimmery metallic jumpsuit. She gave a fierce catwalk down the ball runway. While on the red carpet, she was spotted in a multi-patterned Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Elsewhere, the actress took the time out to applaud two-time award show host and Golden Globe-winning actress Taraji P. Henson, writing “YOU ARE A BEACON OF LIGHT!” She added, “THANK YOU FOR USING YOUR VOICE AND SO MUCH MORE TO UPLIFT US! YOU ARE PURE JOY! THIS WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL!”
