Watch: Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Calls Colin Kaepernick and NFL Players 'Dumb' for Protests

Here's what she had to say.

It has been nearly two months since Colin Kaepernick first sat during the national anthem as a stance against racism and police brutality in America.

Nearly two months later and the San Francisco 49ers quarterback's silent protest continues to spark backlash — this time from Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the oldest U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

While speaking to Katie Couric for Yahoo News, Ginsburg relegated Kaepernick and other NFL players protesting during the national anthem before games as something that's "really dumb of them" and "disrespectful."

“Would I arrest them for doing it? No,” Ginsburg said. “I think it’s dumb and disrespectful. I would have the same answer if you asked me about flag burning. I think it’s a terrible thing to do, but I wouldn’t lock a person up for doing it. I would point out how ridiculous it seems to me to do such an act.”

But that being said, as a Supreme Court Justice, Ginsburg, 83, understands that Kaepernick and his NFL peers are exercising their constitutional right to make a statement.

“Yes,” Ginsburg said about their silent protest being within constitutional rights. “If they want to be stupid, there’s no law that should be preventive. If they want to be arrogant, there’s no law that prevents them from that. What I would do is strongly take issue with the point of view that they are expressing when they do that.”

Watch Ginsburg's full pointed views of Kaepernick and other NFL players kneeling during the national anthem below.

The crazy thing is Ginsburg is a liberal ... and still disagrees about Kaepernick using the stance to spark further dialogue about the racism and police brutality against African-Americans.
