Drake Headlines Wireless Music Festival: An Amazing Line Up and Frustrating Final Performance
Some are lauding Toronto rapper, Drake, who spent the weekend making music history performing all three nights of the Wireless Festival in London. Marking its 20th anniversary, the Hip-Hop music festival took place from July 11 to July 13. Headlining the three nights, Drake spanned various genres including a night of Hip-Hop, R&B, and then Afrobeats, according to Vibe.
Drake brought out guest performers who made appearances each of the three nights of the festival. Even with the many guest performances, others are saying that Drake's three-day residency at London's Wireless Festival concluded on a sour note because his final show ended after just 40 minutes, according to BBC News.
On the final night, Drake took to the stage ten minutes before he was scheduled and told the crowd that he would perform until his microphone was cut off, referring to the 21:30 curfew.
Drake's second night show ran for 90 minutes and featured 13 guest performers. Friday's show had a similar runtime and featured 6 surprise appearances. Some are saying fans were shortchanged on the last night because Drake's final set featured only 3 guests: Popcaan, Rema, and Vybz Kartel.
