Brandy Shares Update After Abruptly Leaving Stage During Chicago Show

Following a viral video from her ‘The Boy Is Mine’ tour stop in Chicago, the R&B star explained she faced dehydration and thanked Monica for stepping up with grace.

Brandy breaks her silence following the singer walking off stage during her Chicago stop for “The Boy Is Mine” tour.

The actress was in mid performance, singing her hit record “Baby” before abruptly leaving the stage and headed to the production area, leaving concertgoers confused.

A video of the full moment quickly made its way online.

The singer-songwriter unfortunately left the United Center, leaving tourmate Monica to finish the evening solo.

As chatter spread online, the “Moesha” star released an open letter to fans, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the “overwhelming love, support, and most importantly, your prayers,” while apologizing for cutting the show short.

The “Put It Down” singer revealed that after “weeks of nonstop rehearsals,” she began experiencing dehydration and dizziness during her set, prompting her team to prioritize her health.

Despite feeling unwell, the singer shared that she made the decision to return to the stage and “give it my all,” but explained that due to technical adjustments and the show’s complex production, “it was impossible to fully connect sonically.”

She thanked everyone involved for their best efforts and gave a special shout-out to her tour mate, Monica, for stepping up “with such grace and professionalism.”

She added that she saw a doctor immediately after leaving the venue and has taken the proper precautions to recover.

She reassured fans that she’s doing much better and returned to the stage Sunday night (October 19) in Indianapolis before continuing the tour in Indianapolis alongside Monica.

The “I Wanna Be Down” singer closed her message on a hopeful note, promising to come back “stronger and more grateful than ever.”
