Lil Wayne Takes Back LeBron James All-Star Diss
Lil Wayne doesn't regret much of what he said during his epic All-Star weekend rant, well, except for the part when he said, "F--k LeBron."
The hip hop superstar called into Miami's 99 Jamz radio station to address the situation that drew major headlines after he cussed out the Miami Heat organization and the NBA. During the infamous outburst at a Houston nightclub on Sunday, Weezy claimed that he slept with Chris Bosh's wife.
Asked if he'd like to make amends for the incident, Weezy said, "I don’t apologize for that night. I don’t apologize for being who I am ... I don't take nothing back ... This is who I am."
He did however confess that he messed up when he insulted the Heat's best player, LeBron James.
"I didn't mean to say ['f--k LeBron'].That's my homie."
Unfortunately what he said about Bron's teammates, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, sticks. Though he's not taking back saying "F--k She Wade. F--k Chris Bosh," he did apologize to the city of Miami for his tantrum.
"For the city of Miami, I do want to apologize for the misunderstanding for whatever has taken place for everyone thinking I have something against the city," said the Young Money boss, who has faced criticism from Miami native Luther Campbell. "That's totally wrong. I mean these people accepted me with open arms from day one."
Weezy went on to explain the origin of his beef with the Heat. He points to a verbal back-and-forth with Wade two weeks ago when Miami was playing his beloved Los Angeles Lakers. Wayne also revealed why he was under the impression the NBA banned him from All-Star weekend. Wayne said he was scheduled to perform with Alicia Keys during the halftime show, but was told he was no longer on the bill and he was denied tickets to the game on Sunday.
Wayne said the NBA has since contacted him and explained that Commissioner David Stern made the decision to keep him away from All-Star activities to assure there would be no further incidents between the rapper and Heat players.
No one from the Miami Heat organization has responded to Weezy's accounts of the events.
