Drake Calls Out Criticism Over Photo of Rapper Taking Down Son’s Braids
Drake had a clapback ready for critics of a sweet photo that he shared of himself taking down his son’s braids.
In the photo shared on Instagram, the Canadian superstar appears to be styling the hair of his son, Adonis.
"Just because you put a guy in a tuxedo doesn’t make him a good guy," Drake captioned the photo carousel on Instagram on Friday, Aug. 11.
The picture of him and Adonis was followed by a well-known pic of Allen Iverson getting his hair braided by his mom courtside.
Many fans showed Drake love for the cute fathering moment. But his friend and fellow rap star Lil Yachty was quick to offer some criticism on the snap.
“I was unbraiding it, bitch. Your son said you ain’t hit him in 6 months on his finsta. He said he need some Jordans and a backpack for school," Drake replied to Lil Yachty.
According to US Weekly, Lil Yachty doesn’t appear to have a son but did announce the birth of his daughter in October 2021.
The two often spar on social media.
In July, Lil Yachty commented on an IG post from the kickoff of Drake’s latest tour. In the comment, he apparently referenced Drake’s choice of earrings.
"Boy got them heavy hangers in his ear," Lil Yachty wrote.
Drake responded, “GET OUT MY COMMENTS YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I STOP BITING THEM AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE 1st TIME SINCE ‘RICH FLEX,'” he wrote, referring to his hit collab with 21 Savage.
Lil Yachty quipped back, “woo-sah brother, your [sic] not supposed to have these episodes in public, it’s fine. They just don’t get u bro #UDIFFERENTAF ‼️”
Meanwhile, Drake dipped into his comedy bag and starred in a comedy sketch with social media star BenDaDonnn.
The hilarious post read, “ITS ALWAYS THAT ONE LIT HOMIE YOU DONT WANT ANYYYWHEREEE NEAR THE GIRL, YOU TALKIN TO….”
“LIKE BRUHHHH….GONE ON!!!!” he wrote, speaking to the rapper directly. “YOU KNOW EXACTLY WTF YOU DOIN… @champagnepapi.”
