Congratulations are in order for “Sistas” star KJ Smith and her husband, Sky Black, after the couple announced to Essence Magazine back in May that they are expecting a child. 

However, while the couple planned to keep the sex of the baby under wraps, Smith accidentally revealed the secret on the red carpet during the BET Awards this past weekend. 

In an interview with People, the couple spoke about Smith’s first two trimesters and what her experience was like during that time. 

As the seasoned actress began to share how she suffered with morning sickness and pregnancy cravings, she slipped up and shared how her pregnancy cravings did not sit well with “her,” instantly revealing that they were having a baby girl. 

“I was having morning sickness and then I was having cravings like lasagna and french fries, which didn’t sit well with her,” the actress shared, before recognizing that she had shared a bit too much. 

After making eye contact with her husband and asking the reporter to cut that specific part, the couple laughed it off and decided to let the host keep the reveal in his story. 

Once news broke, the “Raising Kanan” star went to TikTok to comedically blame her mistake on “Mom Brain.”
