Jay Z walked away a winner in the copyright infringement lawsuit over "Big Pimpin.’’ Earlier today, Judge Christina Snyder tossed the suit brought against Hov and Timbaland by the relative of a deceased Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdi.

Snyder ruled that Osama Fahmy, Hamdi’s nephew, “lacked standing to pursue his claim.” Fahmy's side claimed Jay and Timbo infringed upon the deceased musician’s “moral rights” by not getting permission from the family to sample his song "Khosara Khosara" on “Big Pimpin.’”

“In light of that decision, it will not be necessary to submit to the jury whether ‘Big Pimpin’ infringed 'Khosara Khosara,'” Snyder said in court this morning. “I had to hear the testimony of Egyptian law experts in order to reach that decision.”

Jay and Timbaland testified during the week-long trial in Los Angeles, denying any unlawful use of the music.

Hamdi plans to appeal the ruling.
