Creflo Dollar Might Get That $65 Million Jet After All
It looks like Creflo Dollar will be flying in style soon.
The board of directors at the pastor's megachurch, World Changers Church International, said in a statement that the $65 million jet is necessary to complete international ministry work. Currently, pastors at the church travel on a plane that has nearly four million miles on it. Soon, the board will release a video asking people to give donations.
“A long-range, high-speed, intercontinental jet aircraft is a tool that is necessary in order to fulfill the mission of the ministry,” the board said in a statement. “We plan to acquire a Gulfstream G650 because it is the best, and it is a reflection of the level of excellence at which this organization chooses to operate."
The pastor came under scrutiny earlier this year for launching Project G650, which asked people to donate $300 each for his jet. But in the recently released statement, the board apologized to the public and emphasized that the request was specifically for people who had already donated to his ministries across the globe.
“There was no pressure of any kind applied to anyone, but rather an opportunity was presented to those in our community who may be inclined to participate and who stand to benefit from the global mobility of our ministry leaders,” the statement said. “We encourage our community, and our pastors, to dream big, because we know that God loves us just that much."
What do you think? Is a $65 million jet necessary?
