Rest In Heaven! Aretha Franklin Is Adorned In A Gold Sequin Gown And Louboutin Stilettos For Her Final Funeral Farewell

A true diva until the end.

Aretha Franklin’s final farewell is fit for a queen.

The Queen of Soul had a total of three outfit changes for her four-day memorial service. She wore a red sequin cocktail dress with red metallic Christian Louboutin stilettos on Tuesday, for the first day of her two-day public viewing, and a powder blue dress with matching shoes for the second.

Her 24k-gold-plated casket was transported on Thursday evening to New Bethel Baptist Church in a white La Salle Cadillac hearse for a private viewing and funeral.

In pure queen fashion, Aretha was changed into a third look. She wore a beautiful rose gold floor-length sequin gown with gold sequin four-inch Christian Louboutin stilettos paired with a custom-made pink South Sea pearl necklace and earrings for her final farewell.

The music icon’s processional included 130 pink Cadillacs from Mary Kay in honor of her 1985 hit “Freeway of Love.” Crisette Ellis, an independent national sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, came up with the idea after she and her husband were inspired by police lining up in their cars for fallen officers. She thought it would be a great idea to honor the musical icon in this way.

Franklin’s invitation-only funeral service will include performances by Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Ariana Grande and Faith Hill, along with speeches from Former President Bill Clinton, musical legend Smokey Robinson, Reverend Al Sharpton and a prayer from Bishop T.D. Jakes.

The mayor of Detroit announced that Detroit’s iconic Chene Park will now be renamed Aretha Franklin Park, in her honor.

The Queen's legacy will live on forever.
