The two year old, Arrayah, was pronounced dead after being discovered in the family swimming pool.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett has experienced a devastating tragedy with the passing of his two-year-old daughter Arrayah who drowned in the family’s swimming pool. NBC News reports.

According to the police report, officers were dispatched to Barrett’s home in south Tampa around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Arrayah, Barret’s youngest child, was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

“The investigation is ongoing,” the police report said. “It is not believed to be suspicious in nature at this time, but a purely accidental and tragic incident.”

On Twitter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization offered their condolences to Barrett and his family.

“Today’s tragic news is heartbreaking for all members of the Buccaneers family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna, and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time,” their statement read.

“While no words can provide true comfort at a time such as this, we offer our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah,” the statement continued.

Barrett is a nine-year NFL veteran who entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State. In 2019, he signed as a free agent with the Buccaneers. That season, he was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams after leading the league in sacks with 19½. He won a Super Bowl in 2020 with the Bucs.

In addition to Barrett, Arrayah is survived by her mother, Jordanna, and her three siblings.
