Janet Jackson Turns Paris Fashion Week Into A Family Affair

DEK: The music icon made a rare and stylish public appearance with niece Paris Jackson, proving their bond still runs deep.

Paris Fashion Week got a major surprise highlight when Janet Jackson made a rare public appearance alongside her niece, Paris Jackson. The superstar auntie and her niece turned every head at the Tom Ford runway show, stepping out in color-coordinated black looks. It’s giving we are family!

Janet, 59, stunned in a structured leather short-sleeve top belted at the waist, paired with a flowing black skirt. To complete the sleek, powerful look, she layered on a leather blazer, chunky gold hoops, and patent leather pointed-toe shoes.

Paris, 27, matched her aunt’s black aesthetic, wearing a floor-length gown with bold high-leg slit detailing, finished with jewelry accents and black heels. These two made this more than a fashion moment.

For Jackson family fans, this union is significant. Years of rumors surrounding Janet and Paris’s relationship have circulated in the media. Their black-on-black fashion and embrace suggest a kind of quiet reconciliation, or at least the desire for connection in the public eye.

This public appearance follows Janet’s surprise outing in July at England’s Heritage Live festival, where she joined her brothers onstage and watched alongside her son, Eissa.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paris recently addressed her involvement with the upcoming “Michael” biopic on her Instagram stories, clarifying that she “read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest / didn't sit right with me and when they didn't address it I moved on with my life.” She went on to say, “Not my monkeys not my circus. god bless and god speed." Actor Colman Domingo, who plays Joe Jackson in the film, said he’s spoken briefly with Michael’s children, but Paris made clear she isn’t participating.

The movie is produced by co-executors of the Michael Jackson estate, John Branca and John McClain, directed by Anthony Fuqua, and stars Paris' cousin Jaafar Jackson as Michael. It’s slated to be released in 2026.
