Silk Sonic Wins the 2022 Grammy for ‘Record of The Year’

The duo earned three awards that night, including 'Song of the Year.'

Silk Sonic, the Bruno Mars and Anderson . Paak led collaboration, snagged their third Grammy Award at the 64th annual ceremony for “Record of the Year” for their smash single “Leave the Door Open.”

They beat ABBA, Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, SZA, Jon Batiste. Also nominated were Billie Eilish, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, Brandi Carlile, and Lil Nas X for his single “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name).”

The R&B and soul duo opened the show with a live performance of their hit track “777” before winning “Best R&B Performance” for “LTDO,” tying with Jazmine Sullivan, who won for her record, “Pick Up Your Feelings.” The group further earned bragging rights after winning “Song of the Year.”

“We are really trying to remain humble at this point, but in the industry, we call that a clean sweep,” .Paak quipped during his acceptance speech.
