This One-Year-Old Taekwondo Star is Capturing the Internet’s Heart
One-year-old Muhammad Sarr is proving that you are never too young to find your thing.
According to People, the Michigan toddler developed a love for taekwondo after watching older students practice at Sarr Brothers Taekwondo, the school run by his father, Ousmane Sarr. Once he started imitating the kicks and movements he saw around him, his dad gave him a tiny uniform so he could feel like part of the class too.
Ousmane said that Muhammad’s interest started with observation. “We noticed it when he began trying to imitate the kicks and movements he saw the older students practicing,” he said. From there, the little one became a regular presence in the studio, where he practices little kicks, moves around on the mat, and happily hangs with the other students.
One of the clips that pushed him into viral territory shows Muhammad kicking a pad while holding a bottle of orange juice, which is exactly the kind of adorable chaos the internet was built to love.
The videos have pulled in millions of views, and Ousmane says the response has been overwhelmingly positive. “It has been amazing to see how many people around the world have been inspired by Muhammad’s videos,” he said, adding that he hopes his son keeps enjoying sports and exploring new activities as he grows.
Muhammad’s taekwondo journey is all about joy. He also likes soccer and staying active, which makes the viral clips feel that much more heartwarming because a kid doing what kids do best: copying the big kids, having fun, and stealing everybody’s attention in the process.
