Tamar Braxton Reveals Near-Death Health Scare
Tamar Braxton is recovering after what she describes as a near-death experience.
The Grammy-nominated singer shared the news with fans on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, revealing that she suffered a serious accident over the weekend that left her with multiple injuries.
“I struggled to write this but everyone keeps calling me and honestly, I can’t even really talk anymore I’m so weak,” Braxton, 48, wrote. “I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury.”
She went on to detail the extent of her injuries, saying she fractured her nose, lost teeth and some mobility. “As the days go by the worse it is,” she added. “The way I look at life now is totally different. As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins… pray for me for real 💔💔💔💔 I don’t even know what happened to me 💔💔.”
Braxton included the worship song “Spirit Lead Me” by Clavier in the background of her post. She later reposted a page from the Bible featuring Proverbs 31, a passage that speaks about the strength of women. Hours before opening up about the accident, she had shared a simple message of gratitude on her Instagram Story that read, “Thank you God for waking me up today.”
The incident comes months after Braxton told fans she was prioritizing her health ahead of her current tour. Back in March, she announced the run with excitement and promised to deliver new music along with her catalog of fan favorites. She also shared her commitment to getting healthier, posting a photo of a scale and writing, “Bday is over so no more drinks…. No more carbs… all body and VOICE!!!”
While she did not go into further detail about what caused the accident, Braxton made it clear she’s leaning on faith and prayer as she begins the road to recovery.
