It’s been said that '90s gangsta rap touted a lot of lyrics about selling drugs and 2000s rap is all about doing them.

That’s kind of why the two eras of hip-hop clashed recently. For whatever reason legendary producer Pete Rock was watching video from Young Dolph’s “trap house” listening party and saw that a young boy was next to Dolph when he was rapping the lyrics, “I got cocaine runnin’ through my motherf****n’ system.”

Apparently this irked Soul Brother #2 and he aired out his displeasure on Instagram. “What dat fool say? Lil kid right there chillin,” he captioned under a video of the lyrics to “In My System” being rapped. “Cocaine running through his veins? This kinda s**t has got to stop. We gotta raise children better than this. Damn homie.” He also replied to commenters and called Dolph “trash,” “corny” and “hot garbage.”

The self-proclaimed "King of Memphis" wasn’t just going to let all this slide and replied to Rock’s comments via the comment section of his post. “I don’t know u, and u don’t know me aparently,” he wrote. “But u lame as f**k bra.”

Young Dolph is known to rap about cocaine in the past, so it’s interesting as to why Pete Rock decided to go at him now. “Cut It,” a hit song by O.T. Genasis, features Dolph and is primarily about cutting coke.
