Tyler Perry Shares Jaw-Dropping Video Revealing How Much He Worked Last Year
They don’t call Tyler Perry the hardest-working man in Hollywood for nothing.
The media mogul built a whole studio in 2019, and apparently did so one script at a time. In a newly released video, Perry shows off just what kind of work ethic it takes to get where he is in this industry — and, phew, it ain’t easy.
Posting a video on both his Instagram and Twitter accounts, the Hollywood legend panned his camera over stacks and stacks (and stacks) of scripts — revealing that he had written every last one of them in 2019.
"So, I don't know if you know this, but all shows on television have a writers room," Perry says in the video. "And, most of the time, there are 10 people or 12 or whatever that write on these television shows. Well, I have no writers room. Nobody writes any of my work. I write it all. Why am I telling you this? I wrote all of these scripts by myself in 2019. Work ethic!"

Those in his Instagram comments seemed impressed by his output. “I just love you! Going to your studios made it feel too real! Work ethic all 2020 and beyond!” one person wrote. “Sir , We are learning , we are taking notes most of it all we are inspired to start with the little that we have because we have seen God doing it in your life , Will surely do it for us too,” another commented.

Tyler Perry’s shows Sistas and The Oval return to the air on Wednesday (January 8) only on BET. Perry is also preparing for the return of his Oprah Winfrey Network series Haves and Have Nots for its seventh season Tuesday (January 7). His first Netflix movie, A Fall From Grace, starring Crystal Fox and Phylicia Rashad, will be released later this month.
