Ice Cube Isn't Done With Gene Simmons Just Yet

Gene still can't respect hip hop.

The back-and-forth between Ice Cube and Gene Simmons has been interesting to say the least. The two have been arguing as to whether N.W.A. should rightfully receive induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The KISS member has made it clear that he does like rap and thinks it should be no part of The Hall, Cube obviously disagrees and most recently on Twitter the battle seemed to move forward but also looks like will be left at a standstill.

On Monday (April 11), the N.W.A. emcee mentioned Simmons and dropped a little knowledge, “Who stole the soul?” He wrote. “Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Chubby Checkers help invent Rock 'n' Roll. We invent it. Y'all reprint it.” He then reiterated a statement he made previously about who should be included in the genre of rock and roll before tweeting out the speech he gave during his group’s induction in Cleveland.

Gene Simmons then responded with what he believed to be an apt equivalency. “Cube - I stand by my words,” he wrote. “Respect NWA, but when Led Zep gets into Rap Hall of Fame, I will agree with your point.” Seeing as how there’s no “Rap Hall of Fame,” nor did hip hop come before rock and roll, we’re kind of scratching our heads on that one.
