Sex is considered a pretty important component in making a relationship last, and while actor Terry Crews can attest to that — seeing as he has been married to his wife, Rebecca, for 25 years — he admits that taking sex out of the equation can actually strengthen a couple's bond.
During an interview at HuffPo Live, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star revealed that he and his wife decided, together, to partake in a 90-day "sex-fast," abstaining from all types of sexual activity.
"90 days — No sex, all relationship, all talk, all cuddle," he said.
While he admitted that it had its tough moments, he said the results were far worth it. "I found that at the end of the 90 days, I was more in love, more turned on," he said. "I knew who she was!... It wasn't about, 'Let's go out because I know I'm going to get some sex later.' It was like, 'Let's go because I want to talk to you. I want to know you.'"
Crews went on to say that wanting that emotional connection isn't exclusive to just women — Men also yearn for that intimacy. "You're not looking for porn. You're looking for someone to know you and love you at the same time," he said. "That's all you want — every man out there. But he's scared sometimes. That's why men put up big fronts... There's a moment that they're scared that if you find out who they really are, you won't want to be there."
Elsewhere in the interivew, the White Chicks actor also touched on depression, masculinity and insecurity.
