Wesley Snipes Still Avoiding Jail Time

Wesley Snipes was supposed to serve his three-year jail sentence in Florida for misdemeanor tax evasion starting Thursday, September 2nd. However, Snipes has managed to avoid the time -- he was convicted of the charges over two years ago.  Good for him -- not even Martha Stewart was able to avoid jail time like this.  Looks like Wesley still has Nino Brown in him.\r
According to EOnline.com:\r
A federal judge issued an emergency stay Monday that will allow the actor's surrender date—Sept. 2—to come and go.\r
More than two years after being convicted of misdemeanor tax evasion, Snipes was finally supposed to start serving his three-year prison sentence. But there's ever so much more paperwork to be filed.\r
An appellate court upheld Snipes' conviction and sentence last month, but on Aug. 5, U.S. District Court Judge William Terrell Hodges gave Snipes' camp 20 days to file a motion for a new trial, after which prosecutors would have 20 days to respond.\r
