Video Surfaces Of NBA Youngboy Aiding His Reported Girlfriend’s Gunshot Wound After Miami Shooting

The shooter reportedly opened fire on the 19-year-old and his crew during the Rolling Loud music festival.

Police have confirmed that NBA YoungBoy’s reported girlfriend was one of the individuals injured during the Mother’s Day weekend shooting, according to TMZ. The site informs that one else from the artist's camp was injured in the shootout.

YoungBoy — whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden — was in town for his Sunday performance at the Rolling Loud music festival when the gunman targeted him.

  • The shooter reportedly opened fire on him and his crew from a black Cadillac Escalade as the rapper was leaving a Trump resort where the "Never Broke Again" artist was reportedly staying during the three day music festival.

The Louisiana rapper’s 19-year-old girlfriend, Kaylyn Marie “Kay Marie” Long, was struck by a bullet from crossfire between YoungBoy’s personal guards and his assailants. TMZ obtained footage of the “Genie” rapper rushing to put pressure on his girlfriend's wound as she bled out in the hotel lobby. The video later shows YoungBoy helping her into a black SUV.

  • Footage shows Kay Marie was taken out of the SUV and put in an ambulance on a stretcher while police secured the scene. She was then taken to a nearby hospital.

  • So far, no suspects have been arrested or connected to the drive-by shooting although 11 people were detained by the police, according to TMZ.

It is unclear if anyone from YoungBoy's camp are among those that were detained. Additionally, Associated Press reported on Tuesday (May 14) that Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta confirmed that no one from the rapper’s team will be charged for acting in self-defense.

  • YoungBoy has currently not been detained by the police as the investigation for the shooting that left one dead continues. Despite the circumstances, the Atlantic Records artist still showed up for his scheduled performance at Rolling Loud, taking the stage before a hyped crowd at the Hard Rock Stadium.

  • TMZ reported that the police brought in a SWAT team to beef up security in reaction to the multiple shootings that happened over the weekend as the three-day festival continued.
