Megan Thee Stallion Stars in Trailer for New Apple TV+ Series 'KPOPPED'
Megan Thee Stallion is going from “Savage” to Seoul. Apple TV+ just released the official trailer for “KPOPPED,” an upcoming music competition that fuses global hits with the energy and precision of K-pop. The eight-episode series, premiering August 29, puts some of today’s biggest stars in the hands of rising K-pop groups to create fresh takes on familiar anthems, and Megan is front and center.
The show features performances from artists across the globe reimagined by K-Pop stars like BILLIE, Itzy, KEP1ER, Ateez, STAYC, Kiss of Life, and Blackswan. Megan joins a full line of music icons that includes Patti LaBelle, Mel B and Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls, Vanilla Ice, Taylor Dayne, Kesha, Eve, J Balvin, Kylie Minogue, TLC, Boy George, Jess Glynne, Ava Max, and Boyz II Men.
Hosted by comedian Soojeong Son (Servant, Search Party), each performance takes place in front of a Seoul-based audience who votes which reinvented track takes the crown. Megan, who also serves as an executive producer, will see her Grammy Award-winning hit “Savage” flipped into a full-blown K-pop moment before her eyes. She’s not alone in her double duty commitment; K-pop icon Psy, best known for his viral track “Gangnam Style,” is also listed as both a star and part of the talent shaping the show behind the scenes.
The series is a joint effort from CJ ENM and Eureka Productions, supported by an executive producer team that includes Moira Ross, Lionel Richie, Miky Lee, Greg Foster, and more. With a lineup this bold and a concept that merges global music cultures, “KPOPPED” sets the stage for an exciting collision of choreography, fandom, and fresh takes on classic hits.
Megan Thee Stallion's passion for K-pop and anime adds a personal touch to both of her roles. Known for celebrating K-pop culture and dropping tracks like “Mamushi” that carry that energy, she’s perfectly poised to connect these worlds.
