Trinity Rodman Slams Wimbledon Commentators For Calling Her The Wrong Name and Bringing Up Her Father

Rodman spoke out about being called the wrong name and the constant focus on her famous father, Dennis Rodman, during the Wimbledon broadcast.

The BBC has offered an apology to Trinity Rodman after calling her the wrong name during a tennis match.

According to the Guardian, Rodman, a Washington Spirit soccer player and girlfriend of American tennis player Ben Shelton, was highly critical of the BBC’s Wimbledon coverage where Andrew Castle called her “Tiffany” several times.

“Andrew apologizes for mispronouncing Trinity Rodman’s name during the Ben Shelton vs. Lorenzo Sonego match,” a BBC Sport spokesperson said in a statement.

Rodman also took issue with Castle who mentioned her estranged father, NBA legend Dennis Rodman, during his coverage.

“Her father is Dennis Rodman, who’s one of the greatest sportsmen of all time in my opinion,” Castle said during the broadcast. “The greatest rebounder in NBA history and the biggest wind-up merchant of all time.”

Taking to her Instagram stories following the match, Rodman voiced her displeasure with Castle’s commentary.

“For those who don’t know… my name is TRINITY, not Tiffany,” Rodman’s post read

“Also, for Ben’s matches, he has his family there as his support system, which includes his dad,” the post continued. “My dad’s not even in MY life, no need to bring him up during HIS matches when I don’t even want him talked about during mine. It’s him and his loved ones’ moment. Thank you.”

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast in December 2024, Trinity discussed her estrangement from her father.

“He’s not a dad,” Rodman said. “Maybe by blood, but nothing else.”

“We tried to be that foundation and to be the good people around him,” she added. “Because in reality, we never really asked for anything unless we really needed it.”
