Rep. Summer Lee Accuses James Comer of Calling Her a “B***h”

During the meeting, Lee introduced articles of impeachment against Bondi, and that's when things got heated.

U.S. Representative Summer Lee has publicly accused House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer of calling her a “b***h” during a closed-door meeting over the Epstein files.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has been subpoenaed over the department's handling of the slow and poorly organized release of the files related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

During the meeting, Lee introduced articles of impeachment against Bondi, and that's when things got heated.

"I just walked out of a fake deposition...a fake hearing," she said after the incident. "Where chairman Comer called me a b***h."

She then detailed the incident and frustration over Bondi's behavior in interviews and social media posts.

“She has not been in compliance with our subpoena in the Epstein Transparency Act to release the full, complete, unredacted Epstein files. She has been withholding them. She has been obstructing justice since last July, and a couple weeks ago, we finally got bipartisan support to subpoena her, to bring her into our committee to ask questions,” said Lee about Bondi.

Later on Comer wrote on X: "I said Democrats were bitching and wasting everyone's time because Democrats were bitching and wasting everyone's time."

The Pennsylvania Democrat is one of the first Black women elected to Congress from her state and is known for taking on the GOP head-on.

Fellow Democrats echoed her concerns, while Republicans have pushed back.

“We asked her multiple times, are you going to come and speak with us under oath? She would not say yes," said Florida Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost.

“Our Republican colleagues say: ‘Is this not enough? Why don’t you want to speak to her now?’ We want her under oath because we do not trust her. Why don’t we trust her? Because she’s a liar,” Frost said. “Look at how that judiciary committee went. She was spying on members of Congress when they were in the DoJ looking at the documents unredacted … Look at what she’s done, as far as not putting documents related to Donald Trump on the website.”
