Jamie Foxx Supports Quentin Tarantino Protesting Police Brutality

The director has stood in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

Police unions across the country are calling for a boycott against Hollywood icon Quentin Tarantino after he called out cops as "murderers" for the brutality against Black people, but the director can count on at least one high-profile ally.
Jamie Foxx stepped up to defend the director, with whom he worked on Django Unchained, advising him to "keep telling the truth, keep speaking the truth and don't worry about none of the haters." Foxx showed his solidarity with the filmmaker on stage at the Hollywood Film Awards, as he was presenting an award to the ensemble for Tarantino's new film Hateful Eight.

The backlash against Tarantino began when the director attended a rally protesting police brutality in Brooklyn last Saturday. At the rally, Tarantino told the crowd that "[w]hen I see murders, I do not stand by ... I have to call a murder a murder and I have to call the murderers the murderers." His comments have lead to a movement within police unions in cities from coast to coast to boycott his films.
