This Soccer Player Accidentally Thanked His 'Wife and Girlfriend' in Messy Interview

Peep the way Mohammed Anas tried to squirm out of this jam.

Ever blurt out the wrong words and immediately try to recover, knowing that the damage has already been done?

Well, that was one soccer star's life over the weekend and his words might have landed him in the doghouse with his wife.

After being named the "Man of the Match" in Free State Stars' 2-2 draw with Ajax Cape Town, Ghanaian star Mohammed Anas proceeded to thank his "wife" and "girlfriend" during a live postgame interview with South African TV.

Firstly, I appreciate my fans ... and my wife and my girlfriend," Anas shockingly said.

Realizing his slip-up, Anas immediately tried to recover.

"I mean ... my wife," he said, tripping over his words for a second. "I'm so sorry, my wife! I love you so much from my heart. Thanks for supporting me. There is more to come."

Mohammed ... she may not be supporting you for much longer. As a matter of fact, we wouldn't be surprised if his wife handed him an automatic red card and told him to find a new place to live.

Watch the monumental messy interview below.

Nice try squirming out of that one, Mohammed. But you did this to yourself.

His disastrous interview made the radar of Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club this morning, dubiously being honored with the Donkey of the Day.

He won't be able to live this down anytime soon.
