Republicans Get Slammed For Monitoring Michelle Obama's Spending While Remaining Silent When Melania Trump Spends $700,000 In 3 Months

"Now if Michelle spent 700,000 tax dollars on ANYTHING Fox News would've flipped their s**t."

After Donald Trump became president of the United States, his wife, Melania, quickly became a focal point due to her decision to not immediately move into the White House. A recent report detailed the amount of money the first lady spent on flights before she moved to Washington, and although the cost nearly hit a million dollars, Republicans (a.k.a. the party of limiting government spending) have remained silent.

While Barack Obama led the free world for eight years, then-first lady Michelle Obama was scrutinized by people on the right for everything from her hair, her looks, and her total expenses.

When Michelle would wear an expensive designer outfit, there would always be a segment on Fox News about how much money her clothing cost the average tax payer. When Michelle suggested planting fresh vegetables in the White House garden as part of her healthy eating initiative, Republicans criticized her plans. However, a report from the Wall Street Journal revealed Melania Trump spent $676,635 of tax payer dollars on Air Force One flights between New York, Washington and Florida between January and April of 2017.

  • After the report was published, many people were wondering where the outrage was from the right wing

  • The GOP were labeled hypocrites for keeping a close eye on the former first lady but defending the current first lady

  • Melania was also called out for spending too much money to stay away from her husband
