Rihanna's Dad, Ronald Fenty Cause of Death Revealed
Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, died on May 30 at age 70, his cause of death has now been released, as per People Magazine.
According to Starcom Network, a Bajan outlet, which was first to report the news, Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, died last month in Los Angeles following "a brief illness."
The outlet reported that Fenty's death certificate listed acute respiratory failure, pancreatic cancer, and aspiration pneumonia, a bacterial lung infection.
Other causes shown in the document include acute renal failure and acute tubular necrosis, TMZ reported.
Rihanna’s parents, Fenty and her mother Monica Braithwaite, also had Rajad and Rorrey. The late Ronald Fenty also had Samantha, Kandy, and Jamie. Fenty and Braithwaite officially divorced in 2002, when Rihanna was 14.
Rihanna has not always had the best relationship with Fenty; however, the father and daughter were able to repair that and close the gap between them, according to People Magazine.
"You grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness' sakes!" she shared, according to Billboard. "And then he does something so bizarre that I can’t begin to wrap my mind around it.”
Rihanna later shared that she had "repaired" her relationship with her father during a TV appearance.
"He taught me everything, and as awful as he was to my mom, at times, it didn’t compare to how great he was as a father," she said.
"And I had to come to terms with that, and I was able to close that gap with him.”
