T.I. and Tiny Secure Over $70M After Court Reinstates OMG Girlz Lawsuit Payout
T.I. and Tameka “Tiny” Harris are back on the winning side after a federal judge reinstated their multimillion-dollar payout in a high-profile lawsuit against MGA Entertainment.
The couple, along with the former members of the OMG Girlz, will now receive a total of $71.5 million after their court victory was reaffirmed.
The ruling restores $53.6 million in punitive damages and $17.9 million in actual damages following claims that MGA copied the OMG Girlz’s signature style for its O.M.G. Dolls without permission.
The girl group, originally managed by Tiny Harris, included Zonnique Pullins, Bahja “Beauty” Rodriguez, and Breaunna “Babydoll” Womack—who fought to be recognized in the case.
While the jury initially awarded them the damages, U.S. District Judge James V. Selna previously questioned the size of the punitive payment, suggesting it might be reduced. However, after further review, he fully reinstated the amount, stating, “Upon consideration of the evidence, the Court grants disgorgement of profits of $17,872,252 under common law misappropriation and affirms the jury’s award of punitive damages of $53,616,759.”
This reinstated ruling is a major turning point in a lawsuit that suffered several setbacks, including a mistrial and an earlier legal win for MGA. Following the decision, Tiny summed up the long fight by saying, “The third time’s the charm,” Newsbreak reported.
With the ruling now cemented, the next step will be determining how the damages will be distributed. However, it remains to be seen whether MGA Entertainment will appeal or finally close the chapter on this legal battle.
