And this beautiful woman for seeing us before I saw us myself,” the soon-to-be-groom captioned lovely snapshots from their engagement on Instagram. The Haitian-American actor and producer followed up the caption of his social media post with the hashtag #wegrown.
The lovebirds first met in 2015 at a beach bonfire in LA, according to the couple’s recent interview with Essence. After the chance encounter, Bailey invited the actor out for drinks. Although the pair eventually broke up, the lovebirds reunited when Elie came to the realization that he “found” his forever person.
“We could just sit in a room and not talk to each other and just be and we still feel connected in that moment,” Elie explained to the magazine. “That’s how I know I found my person, and the fact that I’m willing to grow as an individual because of her.”
Bailey added, “We are constantly laughing, joking, pushing each other to reach for our dreams and being supportive in doing so.”
