Nas Opens NBA All-Star Game

Rapper performs his anthem "NY State of Mind."

Nas put the crowd at Madison Square Garden in a "NY State of Mind" before the opening tip-off at the NBA All-Star game on Sunday evening. The rapper opened the game with a performance of his classic anthem after a throwback set by Christina Aguilera, complete with the Rockettes as backup dancers.
Queen Latifah followed Nas with a stirring rendition of the national anthem, with Bill Clinton singing along in the crowd, and former NBA great Grant Hill's wife, R&B singer Tamia, on hand to sing Canada's national anthem.
The game caps off an exciting weekend of basketball, hip hop and fashion in New York City. Kevin Durant and Kanye West headlined the first annual Roc City Classic, while Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley and others judged the All-Star All-Style runway show. Carmelo Anthony, James Harden, Chris Paul and many other NBA greats are participating in tonight's game.
