Tristan Thompson Tries To Mend Relationship With The Kardashians After Past Cheating Scandals

“I want to gain back the respect of my family,” said the NBA player.

Tristan Thompson wants so badly to restore his good graces with the Kardashians and the brother is working over time for their forgiveness.

During the latest episode of "The Kardashians" on Hulu, the Cleveland Cavaliers player and Kylie Jenner had a long, overdue conversation about his 2019 scandal involving her former friend, Jordyn Woods, while he was dating her sister, Khloé Kardashian. During their sitdown hash out, Thompson expressed how he is ready to rebuild his relationship, not just with Khloé but also with the entire family, as reported by PEOPLE.

The athlete put his pride aside and said how Jenner was “affected the most because [she was] losing a sister basically.”

“You lost Jordyn who was a big part of your life. I know how much she meant to your life," he said, while adding that it “wasn’t right, wasn’t smart" to engage with Woods.

Thompson and Khloé started dating in 2016, but dynamics shifted between Thompson and the rest of the Kardashian family after it was discovered that he had cheated on Khloé with multiple women while she was pregnant in 2018. Then, in 2019, it was discovered that he kissed Woods, who was Kylie's best friend at the time.

Kylie and Woods’ friendship never fully recovered.

Four years after that infamous moment, it seems a reconciliation may be on the mend for the former besties. Earlier this year, the Kylie Cosmetics founder and Woods were spotted having dinner together in Los Angeles, per Us Weekly.

Now, Thompson is ready to redeem himself.

“I want to gain back the respect of my family. That’s what I'm trying to do one day at a time,” said Thompson, whose mother, Andrea Thompson, died unexpectedly from a heart attack in January 2023.

“It’s hard to forgive the things you did to Khloé, but I want to move on from that,” Jenner responded.

For Thompson, being a father to his daughter True, 5, and his son Tatum, 1, both of whom he shares with Khloé, are the reasons for his motivation.

“I never want my daughter to go to school and talk so great about me. She’ll be embarrassed and that’ll break my heart because she views me in such high regards," he explained. "I want to be a good influence and role model for them… so they can be proud of me and say, 'That's my daddy.'”

He continued, “Having the three most important things in my life taken away from me at the same time was the biggest wake-up call you can get in your life.”

Although the show is taped months in advance and Khloé has said publicly multiple times that she has no intention of taking him back, only time will tell if she has enough to forgive and forget Thompson’s past philandering behavior.
