Kanye West, Jay-Z Imagine Fatherhood on "New Day"

Is the track from Watch the Throne trying to tell us something?

They may be at the top of their game, but are 34-year-old Kanye West and 41-year-old Jay-Z already worrying about their legacies? One listen to the track "New Day" on their collaborative album Watch the Throne and you might think fatherhood is foremost on their minds.
Kanye rhymes that he would help his son make better choices. "And I'll never let 'em ever hit the telethon, I mean even if people dyin' and the world ends. See, I just want him to have an easy life, not like Yeezy life. Just want him to be someone people like."
Jay-Z, however, writes from the point of view of desiring to be the father he never had: "Cause my dad left me and I promise to never repeat him." If assumptions about Jay-Z's desire to have a child soon can be deduced from interpreting his song lyrics, there is plenty of support on "New Day."
The New York rapper opens his verse apologizing to his unborn son: "Sins of a father make your life ten times harder." But Jay ends it fantasizing about the close relationship they will establish "bondin' on charters" and celebrating at "black bar mitzvahs."

Considering 29-year-old Beyoncé has been clear that she intends to have a baby by thirty, he may have that chance sooner than he thinks.
