Megan Thee Stallion Released From Hospital After Falling Ill During Broadway Show

During her ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ performance, the Houston hottie was diagnosed with ‘extreme exhaustion.’ Will she return to the stage?

Megan Thee Stallion has been discharged from a New York hospital after being rushed there Tuesday night. The Grammy‑winning artist fell ill mid‑performance in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” on Broadway.

The Houston hottie, who made her Broadway debut just days earlier as Zidler, the show’s flamboyant nightclub impresario, began feeling sick during the evening performance at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre before being taken to a nearby hospital. An understudy stepped in to finish the role as the show continued, while fans and castmates reacted with concern on social media.

Soon after, Megan was diagnosed with “extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels,” her team told outlets including The New York Times. She received treatment, was cleared to leave, and is now resting at home as she continues to recover.

On Instagram, Megan called the incident “a real wake‑up call” and admitted she had been pushing herself too hard lately.

"I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me. I thought I was gonna faint on stage,” she wrote. “I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been..I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve. Thank you for always riding with me and loving me through everything.”

Her representatives have said she’s “immensely thankful” for the support from fans. Since Megan’s “Moulin Rouge!” debut roughly a week ago, the show’s box office has grossed $1.6 million, a 39% increase from the previous week, the Times shared.

She is scheduled to perform as Zidler through mid‑May, and she plans to rejoin the show after sitting out two performances following her hospitalization.
