The Stars Shined Bright On The Court At The BETX Celebrity Basketball Game

Featuring a lineup of celebrities from across the entertainment industry, the epic game was one of several events of BET’s Fan Experience.

The BETX Celebrity Basketball Game lived up to the hype and then some as one of the most highly anticipated events of the weekend.

Presented by Anta and SheaMoisture Deodorant, the riveting contest featured basketball enthusiasts from all walks of life who came to showcase their skills and, of course, engage in some significant trash-talking.

Held on Saturday, (June 7), at the Los Angeles Convention Center and hosted by “Mr. 106 and Park” Bow Wow, the BETX Celebrity Basketball Game to brought together an athletes, artists, and entertainers for an entertaining high-energy showdown that blended Black excellence, sports, culture and plenty of laughs.

The exciting game featured rap star Lola Brooke serving as audience correspondent, and the legendary MC Lyte was the celebrity announcer. Keeping everyone up to date with the exciting happenings of the game, Omari "Peggy" Collins and Kysre Gondrezick were sideline reporters.

Bow Wow shared his excitement about the crowd in attendance, taking in the festivities.

“You know the face, you know the name, Mr. 106 it's on the shirt, it’s your boy BowWeezy. We live right here in Los Angeles, California, right now at the celebrity basketball game.” Bow Wow said. “It's lit. Everybody here. Auntie, everybody's cousin, Man Man, Little, P, Everybody here.’

The lineup ballers included Anthony Hamilton Jr., BlakeIANA, BossMan Dlow, Carter the Body, Cordae, Darryl Vega, DeVon Franklin, G-Herbo, Hunxho, Jabari Banks, K Camp, Kalan.FrFr, Kemoy Martin, Mario, Pardison Fontaine, Rapsody, Rob49, Rome Flynn, Skilla Baby, Theo Barns, Zoe Spencer, and Zillionaire Doe

This year, Matt Barnes, Offset, Ty Young, and Flau'jae patrolled the sidelines as coaches of the White Team. Lamelo Ball and his brother LiAngelo “Gelo” Ball were coaches of the Black team.

Not only was she thrilled to be coaching in the game, but Flau'jae also came dressed for the occasion, showcasing her game to fit the camera.

I'm super excited to be here as a coach. Last year I played the game. This year I'm a coach,” she said. “Check out the fit. I had to go, you know, Coach swag.”

Before the game began,  Dawn Raven and White Iverson took home the first-place prize in the Red Bull “Run the Racks” 3-point competition.

After a heated and extremely hilarious game, the White Team won the ultimate bragging rights by defeating the Black Team by a score of 49-43. 

With a strong individual performance, Rome Flynn was named the MVP for the 2025 game.
