Shocking Claim: Greg Hardy Says He Never Hit a Woman

Defensive end tries to explain disturbing police report and images.

The imagery of Greg Hardy throwing his then-girlfriend against a bathtub wall and onto a futon covered in rifles is as disturbing of a domestic violence report as the sports world has ever seen.

But in a shocking claim, the former Dallas Cowboys defensive end and current NFL free agent says he has never laid a finger on a woman despite the allegations from Nicole Holder in that infamous May 2014 incident.

“I’ve never put my hand on any women… in my whole entire life, no sir," Hardy told ESPN's Adam Schefter. "That’s just not how we’re raised. As you can tell, like I said again, it’s the Bible belt [referring to Tennessee roots]. It’s just something that’s, I wouldn’t even say frowned upon, just something that’s nonexistent in most Southern homes.”

When Schefter asked Hardy how he explains disturbing photos of Holder with bruises and marks seemingly all over her body, the defensive end again stressed his innocence.

"I will stop you there and say that I didn’t say that I didn’t do anything wrong," Hardy said. "That situation occurred and that situation was handled but… saying that I did nothing wrong is a stretch but saying I am innocent is correct. Yes sir.”

With Hardy being a free agent yet to be picked up by an NFL franchise, some people aren't buying his sincerity in the timing of his interview and overall what he's saying.

Just peep what Steve Smith Sr., one of the greatest NFL wide receivers ever, had to say about Hardy's claim.

Hardy has plenty of work to do to convince people he's telling the truth and actually a decent person.

Let's see if any team out there is willing to give him a shot.
