Sha'Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, and Tara Davis-Woodhall Join Ownership Group of Athlos Track & Field League

Launched in 2024, the league was founded by Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams.

Olympic medalists Sha'Carri Richardson, Gabby Thomas, and Tara Davis-Woodhall have joined the ownership group of Athlos Track & Field League, according to the Sports Business Journal.

Kayla Green, Athlos CMO, said that bringing the three superstar athletes to the league conveys a new level of authenticity for the organization's mission..

"We’re really at that stage of taking those steps to make sure that as we’re building this vision and the details around the vision, that we’re doing it with the athletes at the center," Green said.

Launched last year and founded by Alexis Ohanian, husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, Athlos offers track athletes the opportunity to keep their sport in the spotlight after the Summer Olympics and to earn more income.

“Gabby, Sha’Carri, and Tara represent a new generation of athletes who have put this sport on their shoulders and deserve to be compensated for being the standard-bearers,” Ohanian’s statement read.

“We were focused on bringing them into the League as founding owners to ensure we’re building a League that our athletes will love.”

Thomas, who already competes in Grand Slam Track, founded by Olympic legend Michael Johnson, was the first Olympian to sign on with Ohanian's group.

The 2025 Athlos meet returns to Icahn Stadium in New York City on October 10, following the World Championships in Tokyo. Next year, the league will feature women’s long jump with Davis-Woodhall and Olympic bronze medalist Jasmine Moore as headliners.

Last year, $663,000 prize money was awarded to the winners of each event, with first-place finishers taking home $60,000. Runners-up and third-place finishers earned $25,000 and $10,000. Athletes finishing fourth through sixth received between $2,500 and $8,000.
