Stephen Curry had a laundry list of people to thank Monday, while accepting the NBA's MVP award.

None hit home more than his dad, Dell Curry, who played in the NBA from 1986 through 2002.

“To be able to follow in your footsteps, it means a lot to me,” a choked-up Curry said as part of his acceptance speech. “This is special. I’m really proud of what you were able to do in your career and I don’t take that for granted at all.”

In a way, Curry's heartfelt speech conjured memories of Kevin Durant's MVP speech, in which he broke down himself in thanking his mom, even calling her the "real MVP."

“Just who you are—you made it OK to have a family at my age when I started to know that if you take care of your business, you’ll be alright,” Curry continued telling his dad, who was present for the press conference and began to tear up himself.

As part of his many thank yous, Curry saluted Golden State Warriors' Splash Brothers brethren Klay Thompson.

"Hopefully we have a long future together," he told Thompson. "We can do some special things—hopefully be the best backcourt to ever play."

They were certainly that this season with both being named All-Star Game starters and leading the Warriors to a franchise-record 67-win season.
