Zendaya: 'But Like Tupac, I'm a Real Model'

Hollywood starlet redefines how to be a role model.

Simply put, Zendaya is a badass.

Not only is the 19-year-old starlet talented, she is intelligent, outspoken and stands for everything that she believes in without being apologetic for it in the least. And why should she be when she's a strong young woman that brings strength and hope to women young and old alike?
Besides covering the Ebony Magazine Power 100 issue, the former Disney star is also the covergirl for the newest issue of Complex. She opens up about racial identity, positive feedback and support she's received, and why she feels like Tupac.


“I think it’s a responsibility, but like Tupac Shakur, I’m a real model,” she said, "which means: I’m not pretending to be something that I’m not. Because like he said, people are going to be disappointed when they find out who you are, because it’s not going to be what you presented to the world, so just keep it real.”
