Kid Cudi Speaks On Leaving Lady Gaga Tour

Days after striking a fan in the face, KiD CuDi unexpectedly left Lady Gaga’s Monster’s Ball Tour. The Cleveland artist has now released a statement regarding his departure.

According to a statement from MTV, CuDi “has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments.” The statement continues, “CuDi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January.”

The statement does not say whether the altercation between the concertgoer and CuDi was a reason as well.

During the concert’s stop in Vancouver, a wallet was thrown on stage during CuDi’s performance, to which CuDi threw back into the crowd to the wrong fan. When that fan threw the wallet back on stage, CuDi leapt off the stage and onto the crowd barrier, punching the fan in the face.

The victim, Michael Sharpe, has said however that he would not press charges against KiD CuDi. “I'm not upset, I'm not going to be that person,” Sharpe said. “I just want to meet him and be like ‘I’m the guy you punched.’ I’m not going to press charges.”

Jason Derulo has since replaced CuDi on the tour.
