BET Awards 2026: Best Collaboration and the Eight Tracks That Defined the Year

Every song in the category brought a different kind of chemistry and vibe, but a few clear front-runners are separate from the pack.

Best Collaboration is one of those BET Awards categories that many folks sleep on. This category doesn’t just reward a guest verse. It rewards timing, chemistry, replay value, and whether a song felt bigger than the sum of its parts.

Last year, Kendrick Lamar and SZA won the award for “luther,” and it was the obvious pick. The record shook the charts. The nominees for the 2026 Best Collab feature the best pairings that are not just features. These are records that moved through the year with purpose.

Check out this year’s nominees and cast your own vote. Who’s taking home the gold?

  • “Chains & Whips” — Clipse feat. Kendrick Lamar

This is the prestige pick. Clipse returned with a record that delivered real weight, and Kendrick’s presence made the duo’s reunion feel like an event. The track also carried enough momentum to earn Grammy recognition, which is exactly the kind of receipt that makes the BET Awards pay attention and the competition nervous.

  • “Errtime Remix” — Cardi B feat. Jeezy & Latto

Cardi kept her name hot by stretching one record into a bigger conversation, then giving the remix room to breathe with Jeezy and Latto. This kind of collaboration works because everybody sounds like they showed up ready to set the booth on fire.

  • “Go Girl” — Summer Walker feat. Latto & Doja Cat

Summer Walker’s record stands out because it leans into three-way star power without losing its R&B center. The song helped keep Walker on the charts, while Latto and Doja Cat gave it extra oomph across rap and pop listeners.

  • “Good Flirts” — Baby Keem feat. Kendrick Lamar & Momo Boyd

Keem and Kendrick know how to make a feature feel like a statement; it must run in the family. “Good Flirts” is playful, but it still carries the self-assuredness that makes their collaborations hit every time. And Momo is the cherry on top.

  • “Is It a Crime” — Mariah the Scientist & Kali Uchis

This one kept Mariah’s year moving after “Burning Blue” and gave Kali Uchis another lane to show that she can slide across R&B without losing personality. The track works because it’s intimate, not overworked.

  • “It Depends (The Remix)” — Chris Brown feat. Bryson Tiller & Usher

Is this the R&B Avengers?! Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller already had the original track working, and bringing Usher into the remix turned it into a big generational flex. There’s no way to ignore this supercharged R&B tune.

  • “Take Me Thru Dere” — Metro Boomin feat. Quavo, Breskii, YK Niece & DJ Spinz

Metro knows how to build a record that sounds like summer, and this one had motion. That’s Metro’s formula. The song’s early-2000s feel and stacked guest list made it one of the more textured collaborations in the category.

  • “wgft” — Gunna feat. Burna Boy

Gunna and Burna Boy made a collaboration that played well beyond one lane, which is part of why it stuck. The song also got a remix push later on, keeping it active long after the first release cycle.
