Gabrielle Union and her daughter Kaavia James are serving up sparkle, sass, and plenty of heart in PEOPLE magazine’s annual World’s Most Beautiful issue. 

In a heartwarming and hilarious sit-down discussion, the 5-year-old, affectionately known as “Shady Baby,” flipped the script by interviewing her mom about all things beauty, fashion, and family life. However, in true Kaavia fashion, the conversation quickly turned playful as she dished on one of her favorite pastimes: sneaking into mom’s closet.

“When you come in mommy's bathroom or my closet, what do you always come to steal?” Union asked. Without missing a beat, Kaavia proudly confessed, “Your shoes.” After a laugh, Union followed up by asking what kind of shoes, to which Kaavia replied, “High heels.”

Kaavia went on to explain why she loves raiding the shoe stash: “I love getting bigger with them and I love just pretending that I’m bigger,” adding that she dreams of being tall like WNBA star Angel Reese.

The fun-loving duo also shared a glimpse into their sweet bond, which includes Kaavia lending her personal touch to her parents’ glam routines. When asked what she enjoys most about doing her mom and dad’s makeup, Kaavia revealed, "When I do your makeup, I like to look you good. But when I do daddy's makeup, he just doesn't like it. He wipes it off."

Union playfully responded, “Oh, no. But still, I think he looks good.” Kaavia agreed, “Me too.”

Throughout the interview, Union couldn’t help but beam with pride alongside her mini-me, who is clearly a natural in front of the camera. The “Bring It On” star has often spoken about the light and joy Kaavia brings to their family.
