Porsha Williams Wonders Who She Married In Emotional ‘RHOA’ S16 Premiere
A little over a year after announcing their pending divorce, Williams approached lawyer Randy Kessler in the new “RHOA” episode, who previously represented her in her 2013 divorce from first husband, Kordell Stewart.
In a confessional scene, she shared, per BRAVO, “One of my joys was getting up in the morning and just thinking about what I could do to make [Simon] happy, and I genuinely felt he was the same way about me.” “I would have rode to the end of the world with this man, but the person I’m now mourning, he was not real.”
In addition to Guobadia currently having issues regarding his immigration status, she revealed that she is no longer speaking to her husband of two years. “For me and our relationship, I used to pride myself on us having great communication,” she shared. “And, when communication started to lack, it felt intentional.”
After contacting Guobadia to “find some peace,” Williams has since “given up” after extending the olive branch to her estranged husband, as he doesn’t want to speak.
While focusing on the “logistics” of the divorce, Williams admitted to believing that she and Guobadia could “conquer anything” together, although “a slow progression of issues” arose. In one scene, Williams confessed to there being “serious trust issues” between her and Guobadia, with an accompanying clip shown of her asking, “Who the f**k did I marry?”
Among “untruths” that surfaced involved finances, according to Williams. “He wouldn't tell me what our finances were,” she revealed. “It's not like I was sitting here like some dumb little wife and just enjoying some money. No, I actually asked my husband, ‘What is going on?’”
Williams and Guobadia split after 15 months of marriage. Although the former spouses do not share children, the Nigerian businessman has five children from previous relationships, while Williams shares a 5-year-old daughter, Pilar McKinley, with ex-partner Dennis McKinley.
On Guobadia's detention by ICE last month, Williams wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post that it was “disheartening” to hear the news.
