See '90s Icons Missy Elliot, Lil Kim And More Support Teyana Taylor's New Nail Salon

"If you a fly gal, get your nails done. Get a pedicure, get your hair did."

Let's keep it 100—the '90s was a fly decade.

Everything from the music, TV shows and not to mention the style was filled with color, fun, and unforgettable trends. And no one seems to love the '90s more than Teyana Taylor. She's all about that throwback fly!

Although she hinted at it last week, it turns out Junie Bee Nails in Harlem is on and popping. The inspiration came because Teyana used to go to the barber shop with her uncle and "it felt like a total mancave."

As a huge nail addict, she noticed that she never felt like she could truly be herself at traditional salons. "The most important thing that I wanted to do was create opportunities for my community and promote so many talented people out here. I wanted an environment that was unbiased and open to everyone no matter what size, shape, color, gender...you know that's what I wanted to do."

"I don't feel like we have alot of nice nail salons in Harlem," she continued. "We're stepping it up now alot, but growing up, you had a couple of fold out chairs." In short, Teyana was not impressed.

She came up with the "loud" decor and concept while she was "super duper pregnant" with her partner, Coca Michelle, who she met on tour. "We were just talking about different opportunities, like how we wanted to be our own boss and do our own things. Then, I was like, 'B*tch, we're gonna open our own nail salon.' We wanted to do it the way we wanted to do it, because she (Coca) is super creative with the art."

In terms of what you can expect, the team of manicurist sourced via Instragram (yep, Teyana was sliding into DM's) will be “taking it all the way back to the airbrush,” she says. “There will be retro nails, new nails, gel, natural, acrylic, all that, anything you want.”

The staff at Junie Bee Nails will be decked out in full on '90s attire. From the double door-knocker earrings to the laid and slayed babyhairs—the nostalgia is real!

The uniform for the staff will be designed by the famed Harlem native Dapper Dan, known for his custom hip-hop style worn by some of our favorite '90s artists that include Salt 'n Pepa, Eric B. & Rakim, and Big Daddy Kane.

Not only will he be making the uniform, he showed up at the grand opening along with celebrities like Missy Elliot, Lil Kim and SWV, and we can't forget Baby Junie, the salon namesake.
