After shooting his shot back in 2016 and finally getting the girl in 2023, Yo Gotti and Angela Simmons have officially called it quits.

It all began with a verse on his hit track “Down in the DM,” where Gotti publicly professed his crush on Simmons, the daughter of hip-hop royalty, Rev Run. 

What started as a viral lyric eventually blossomed into a real-life romance, turning fans into believers of the long game.

But now, the chapter has closed. 

During a recent appearance on Angie Martinez’s podcast “In Real Life,” Simmons confirmed that she and Gotti are no longer together. 

When Martinez’ posed the question about the entrepreneur being in her “single girl era,” the mother of one confirmed the split by prefacing it wasn’t her decision. 

“Not by choice, but you know, I respect him,” she told the Power 105.1 host. 

“I had to make a decision. Some stuff is better left unsaid. Again, much love and respect to him, he’s doing his thing, I’m happy for him.” 

The couple had a few viral moments during their relationship, including their red carpet appearance at the 2024 BET Awards.
