Prince, Tems, and Drake Headline Barack Obama’s 2022 Summer Playlist

At the top is none other than “Break My Soul,” and Burna Boy’s “Last Last.”

The 60-year-old former Commander-in-Chief shared his highly-anticipated annual playlist for the season, sending love to today’s superstars and unforgettable classics alike.

Beyoncé, Tems, Burna Boy, and Doechii round out the new school, while Otis Redding’s “I’ve Been Loving You,” The Spinners’ “Mighty Love,” and “Let’s Go Crazy,” by late legends Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin, and Prince, respectively made up his favorites for the season.

“Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies — it’s an example of how music really can bring us all together,” Obama, who also shared his summer reading list, captioned in the post.

Obama unveiled his list just after celebrating a first-time Primetime Emmy nod for his narration work in Netflix’s Our Great National Parks. Up against him are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, W. Kamau Bell, Lupita Nyong’o, and David Attenborough in the jam-packed category.
