Rosario Dawson's Daughter Isabella is Expecting Her First Child
Rosario Dawson is entering her “glamma” era, and we love this for her.
During an exclusive interview with Page Six on Wednesday (Dec. 13,) the "Rent" star let it slip that her daughter, Isabella, is expecting her first child.
Dawson said, "It's very exciting," adding that the baby is due next year. She has selected "Glamma" as her preferred name for this new role.
The actress adopted Isabella in 2014 when she was 11 years old. Dawson told Health Magazine, that after learning that Isabella was in foster care, she sought out Isabella's biological mother, whom she knew. “It wasn’t even a question; it was clearly meant to be,” she said.
In an interview with Latina magazine in 2008, Dawson, who was adopted by her father, shared her desire to do the same. “I always wanted to adopt kids cause my dad adopted me. That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I’ve been thinking about it more,” she said.
Dawson also shared, “My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they’re getting older. It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going ‘Your grandma was an amazing woman; I really wish you could’ve known her.’ That makes me sad cause it would be a waste to not have these people know each other. Whatever time I have, I want it.”
Having described motherhood as “the most incredible thing,” it is clear that family means everything to this “Seven Pounds” star.
The actress has shared a small number of photos of Isabella on social media over the years in an effort to keep her out of the spotlight. One post included a carousel of pictures in June 2021 of her daughter and stepfather, Greg Dawson, in honor of Father’s Day.
She wrote, “Thank you for being the best GranDaddy-O! 🤍🤍🤍🤍.” It looks like she has a great resource for how to be the best “glamma.”
